Finance Pros: Clark Howard
Clark Howard is a consumer reporter/advocate. He can be seen and heard discussing consumer news and giving advice via multiple media outlets, including his Website clark.com, his national radio show, books, and more.
Howard began his broadcasting career in Atlanta, offering travel-related advice on local radio shows (after a prior career as a travel agent). This turned into Howard eventually getting his own radio show, and then becoming the on-air consumer affairs reporter for a local TV station. For the past 20 years or so, his radio show has been in syndication, meaning it is heard on hundreds of local radio stations throughout the country.
In 2017, Howard became seriously ill with rhabdomyolysis, which causes muscles to break down and can lead to paralysis and death. The disease appeared to be a side effect of medication, possibly the antibiotic Cipro. He has since recovered.
